Stars Over Nuptse
At 7,864m above sea level, Nuptse is one monster of a mountain. Yet it does not stand out from most angles due to its proximity to higher neighbours Everest and Lhotse. Viewed from the west however, Nuptse steals the show with its pointing peak and imposing icefalls. Long after the sun has disappeared in the lower reaches of the Khumbu, the snowy heights of Nuptse remain magically lit up by the alpenglow.
